One to Watch: Devylle

2011-09-01

(TORONTO) --- As one of Toronto’s most promising emerging rappers, Devylle is ready to take the city, and the world, by storm. His new single, Birthday Girl features velvety vocals by Jhevon Paris.  This is the head-nod inducing soundtrack to mark the end of summer and is definitely an ideal track for radio air radio.

In 2005 Devylle infiltrated the music industry by releasing his first mixtape entitled Men of Movements, which he single-handedly wrote and produced.  Men of Movements became the perfect calling card for this emerging artist by creating an international viral buzz.  In September of the same year, his single Holla Back made its way onto a music compilation by the landmark clothing company, Roots Canada. The following year Devylle released another banger entitled “Do You Like That”, which was selected to be on Toronto's Z103.5 Hit Mix compilation, in addition to being chosen for the Flow 93.5FM FLOW Mix compilation album.   His single was requested and sold in every major music retailer outlet across Canada.   The success of the single resulted in Devylle sharing the stage with artists such as Chris Brown, Ginuwine, Elephant Man and Nas.  Devylle continued to push the envelope and added a European tour to his growing list of accomplishments that same year.

Since then, Devylle has taken his talents around the globe, most recently in Miami where he was recognized by Poe Boy and Nappy Boy Records (home of chart-topper, T-Pain).  This summer he collaborated with influential rap artists Billy Blue and Shawnna, creating the hot summer track "Icey" which dominated the Miami nightclubs and airwaves.

Wherever he may go in the future, one thing is certain that you can expect the unexpected from Devylle, another proud artist internationally representing T.O
